Your Answer ▼ It is a common belief that it is essential for college students to participate classes. However, I firmly believe that students should choose the subjects what they want to and there are other ways to study even if they are absent.
To begin with, students should be given a right to opt to their classes. For instance, they can skip the class, if they do not think it will be valuable. Although there are truely some classes that students have to learn, most students exactly know what they have to study. Also, it is more reasonable for them to choose what they want to take, because some students think that it is unnecessary to take subjects what they do not have interest. According to a recent study, college students were more likely not to attend a class that a professor was not attentive to students. Students mostly said that the class was not interesting at all because they thought the class was not informative to them.
On top of that, if students are absent, there are many other ways to study. They are able to make up the class with online course materials. These days, there are tons of online lectures out there. By taking these courses, students can study whenever and wherever they want to. Increasing numbers in cyber colleges also demonstrate the current trend of taking courses online. For example, in Korea, there are majority of universities providing online class platforms. Even some parents brackets, which were not able to get degrees in their time, are now studying eagerly what they have wanted to as well.
To sum up, students are entitled to select subjects that what they want to take because choosing classes freely is a more effective way to foster better academic achievements. For these reasons, it is clear that college students choose their classes without school's interruption. |
