Your Answer ▼ It is a common belief that children should grow up in the countryside because it is safer and quieter than the city. However, I firmly believe that it is not a good idea for children to live living in the rural area becuase it rarely provides a chance to children to receive cultural education and it is hard to find medical facilities in the countryside.
To begin with, young people have less opportunity to access culture and art. These factors are really important for children to grow raise their emotional development. Not only by reading them on books, but by touching and seeing directly also help children to develop their emotional abilities. For instance, a study conducted by the Seoul National University shows that there was a huge art index gap between cities and countryside. Astonishingly, it is up to 97.3%. This means that children living in the rural areas are absolutely difficult to experience cultural education.
On top of that, since it is a lack of medical establishments in the countryside, young people may be in danger when they put in an emergency. It is important because children are more likely to get sick suddenly. For example, when people in Ulleung Island, which is located in the far east part of Korean penninsula, have a serious problem with their health, when people from an islands get sick, they might sometimes have to take helicopters to go to the better hospital placing in an inland area. It takes too much time and effort to them, and it is much more dangerous even if a disease is lethal.
To sum up, chilren are likelihood to experience culture and art more in a big city and it is easy to access the medical facilities when they get sick or injured. For these reasons, it is clear that living in the countryside is better for children in many positive ways. |
