It is great worth to discuss on punishing
children to educate the concept of right and wrong.
Some
people might insist that punishment is unnecessary to teach them the concept.
On the other hand, others might claim that proper punishment is necessary to do
it.
Although there are mixed opinions, I strongly
believe that parents and teachers should teach an early age’s children with
acceptable punishment method.
To
begin with, it is significant to teach people how to distinguish between right
and wrong, especially when they are younger children. This is mainly because
people’s personalities are formed at an early age.
From my personal
experience, I have learned how to separate right from wrong. Since my mother had
started to teach me when I was 5-year-old, I have undergone trials and errors
to establish my thoughts and concepts of them. In addition, my mother,
sometimes, spanked me when I did something wrong. By getting spanked, I realized
that I did something bad.
Hence, reasonable
punishment, such as soft spanking, sitting on a chair to think, could be
required to remind them of what is wrong.
However, parents and teachers should be
careful when they punish the children. Because if they scold them with
unreasonable methods, it could last forever for kids as trauma. Therefore, they
need to punish them with the options which is not too violent to do to
children.
In
conclusion, education children what is right and wrong when they are as younger
as possible is significantly important. Moreover, acceptable punishment from
society will help them learning the distinction. However, the punishments are fulfilled
with reasonable reasons and methods.
