In this contemporary setting, traveling
around is increasingly common and some are of opinion that the enlargement of
tourism industry has detrimental effects in a local community, however this
essay agree the opinion that tourism play pivotal role in activation of local
business and it is a rapidly increasing industry through the world.
The tourism industry has grown
significantly fast and it has a fundamental contribution in economic
development in this modern society. In some countries, the tourism is the
primary industry and most people work in the part of a tourism business to create
income for a living. People who travel to these countries also obtain extreme happiness
that is more valuable than money by entertaining and experiencing in highly
developed and well-designed tourism places where have made by the government
invests in the tourism part. Moreover, with the development of transportation,
traveling abroad is much easier than before and this is linked inextricably to
grow this industry so, it is predictable creating more wealth to make profit
for people and government in the future. Therefore, tourism has an
indispensable role in an activating business with significant developing.
On the other hand, the tourism may have
adverse effects as there is a potential for damage to the local community. For example, some people strongly believe that
steadily increasing the number of tourists affects on rise in prices. It is
understandable that the tourists spend more money than usual and this fact
directly linked to raise living cost in tourism places. It can be a burden for
local people. Furthermore, a great deal of the development of tourism sites
causes environmental pollution. When the government loses balance control
between the business for money and welfare for local people, it can be the
primary culprit of destruction of the environment related to people’s wellness.
Hence, value of local people’s life can be ignored by the tourism.
In conclusion, it is apparent that the
tourism development in the world is a double-edged sword. It has great benefits
in creating income as a main industry in some countries but by no means, should
we turn a blind eye on the repercussions this on the local community.
Nevertheless, in my opinion, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
