Maintaining and looking after our
environment healthy and safe are fundamental parts of any community.
Nonetheless, it is not difficult to witness that dumped rubbish on the streets.
In this essay, I will discuss what concerns it can cause and what need to be
done to prevent it happens.
Littered rubbish over the street generates
numerous problems. For one, they are not safe for commuters. Since much rubbish
is thrown away near or along roadside they can damage tyres of cars and
bicycles which can result in serious accidents. Broken glasses and debris are
threats for pedestrians especially for those young children walking barefoot or
inappropriate foot wears. Other than that these rubbish are generally remained
there over long period of time, which spread rotten or unpleasant odour. They
attract insects such as flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches. As a result, people’s
health can be compromised.
In order to stop this unwanted phenomenon
we need supports from various fields. Firstly, the government can run campaigns
promoting people clean and take care of streets nearby. It can also impose a
heavy fine to those litters. School and parents, however, can encourage youngster
behaviour appropriately, as well as inspiring them by being a good role model.
Once mature adults act adequately their children will surely be inspired.
Lastly, community can cultivate some cultures monitoring the streets to keep
them clean and encourage individuals to volunteer cleaning.
In conclusion, littering rubbish is perhaps
a very common problem of any societies. Nevertheless, as the troubles that are
caused by this matter are hard to neglect, government, society and individual
should endeavour to diminish this problem.
