Your Answer ▼ As every coin has two sides living in modern society has its advantages and drawbacks, and one of some downsides is constant noise. In this essay, I will explore what causes this phenomen and how to tackle this problem.
Noises are from everywhere and it seems an inevitable part of living in a city. Transportation like buses, taxies or even a bicycle produces a certain amount of noise to operate. Depending on where one lives, train and air plane could be a major source of noises. Apart from transportations, due to closely built accommodation many forms of entertainments from neighbours can be a source of noises. For example, loud stereo in early morning or late evening may relieve some street but will increase stress levels of surrounding neighbours. For those living in an apartment, unwanted sounds from running children next doors or up floor are unpleasant noises that often trigger conflicts among a community. Lastly, because of massive construction of buildings and other infrastructure like tunnels or subway people living in town have been suffered from endless noise.
For the solutions, unfortunately there is not much for people to do, since all these noises are some part of living in a city. Nonetheless, a few actions can be taken to minimise this problem. For one, government may install soundproof fences along main highway as well as around construction sites. Community can run a campaign to raise awareness that how constant noise can affect whole societies. Individuals, perhaps most importantly, are being aware of their actions and consequences so that they can be very mindful to other members of local community.
In conclusion, living in a city brings us many pleasures and advantages, in spite of its demerits such as stressful noise are unavoidable. I believe most of these conflicts are not resolvable but something that we all have to compromise.
