People have
various opinions concerning an encouraged sense of competition and cooperation
in children education. Some people urge that children should learn how to
compete, while the others believe cooperation should be encouraged. This essay
will show both views and my opinions as well.
There
are some people, thinking the young need to learn how to compete, based on two
reasons. They believe children will try to improve their skills as they are
laid on the situation of competitions, and competition is a good chance to make
children know the glory of victory. On the other hand, the others believe
cooperation brings lots of positive effects to the young. To adapt to the
system of either society or company, children should know how to cooperate with
others.
Even though there,
surely, are benefits of a sense of competitive in children, I personally
believe that cooperation is much valuable than any others in terms of teaching
children. If children are taught to compete and compare themselves based on
their grades or what they receive from educators, they would become selfish in
the long run. However, if educators give big priorities on working together,
children would be familiar to how to cooperate with others and learn
cooperation will be able to make them to achieve what they want easily. Moreover,
by working with others, they will be taught how to share opinions and how to
persuade.
To sum up, it is well- known that children should
know a sense of both competition and cooperation to adapt to the society.
However, based on the reasons I mentioned, cooperation should be emphasized
when we teach children.
