It is true
that university education has many functions. Some people argue that
universities give not only educational information but many other opportunities
to students. However, others claim that the colleges have vital roles in
students future careers.
On the one
hand, there are some people arguing that university helps students form new
relationship among pupils. To be more precise, since there are a lot of various
people from different cities or countries, students can socialise with them and
learn their unique culture and experiences through understanding their thoughts
and differences. For example, Hyojin, one of my best friends, who is studying
in New York says that the most meaningful and valuable experience is when socializing with to
socialise new friends from other countries and to learn about their exotic the
way of life.
On the
other hand, other people claim that university's most significant role is to
provide work knowledge and technique. This is because college helps people
adapt well to job environment. Since their education is based on the job field,
all of the students consider and choose their major very carefully. After they
enroll to the university, they can more depth learn technical skills and knowledge more deeply related to their future career, which helps students to be a more suitable
person in their job field. Moreover, universities give students many work
experiences like internships. For instance, when I was a college student, the
internship programme which was
provided by college gave me a
chance to think about my aptitude for the future job,
which was highly helpful when I searched and got my work.
In
conclusion, both views have their strong points. However, it seems that the
latter view is more convincing: contribution to improving students job
knowledge and technique before and after getting the work.
