In
modern society, the amount of rubbish generated by housrhold is increasing more
and more. While it makes some serious problems, it can be solved by several
ways.
As
the number of single person household is rising, there are diverse products for
single person such as instant foods. It means that the amount of waste is highly
going up and it is directly linked to serious environment problems. To
eliminate the huge quantity of rubbish, a lot of our precious energies are
wasted and it creates greenhouse gas which is a main cause of global warming.
Another problems that we can see easily around us are stink and appearances.
Although there is a rubbish spot in the hidden place, an increased waste cannot
cover its own smells and messy states.
However,
there are solutions to these problems. The immediate step would be to limit
daily amount of rubbish, and impose a fine if there is exceed of the amount. It
would be hard at first, but people would be willing to abide by the rule not to
pay the penalty caused by producing a lot of waste. For example, in Korea,
residents of some apartments should pay fees of food waste disposal, and it has
contributed to reduce the amount of the waste. In the long term, constant
advertising campaign would be effective. The government should encourage the
public to decrease the volume of rubbish, reuse by choosing long-lasting
products instead of disposable one, and recycle for saving energy.
In conclusion, it is clear that household waste
cause many problems. Nevertheless, the issue can be resolved by adopting above
mentioned solutions. |
