Since countries were industrialised, people are living in busy society and then they have started changing their lifestyle to materialism, and even individualism. As a result, human’s greed has been risen and among people, the competition to reach the reach abundant life has been rougher. I would like to talk about how this situation affects on children and what should be done to improve it.
To begin with, adults’ ideal lives, based on materialism bring out competitive life as their life standard has been increased. From that, it has been influencing children, so they are struggling to compete each other to win from the competition and they think they would achieve the privilege of higher education and better jobs. Furthermore, some students may be forced by their parents to study more and more regardless of their interests
To improve this situation, it is essential to reform educational system. It may be reflecting what people and society hope from children. Therefore, the system should be changed to a flexible system that helps young people decide what they would like to do themselves without the involvement of adults. Accordingly, they would realise how important they find their own ideal life themselves. In addition, companies has to take steps to improve their estimation to hire people with reasonable standards which don’t requires too much higher academic background. It would be one of the reasons that causes tough competition.
In conclusion, children are racing each other to fulfill adult’s demand. Educational system and enterprises have to improve the situation by providing environments in which children can pursue whatever they want to do regardless of society’s awareness.
