The data gives information on averagely about average personal emissions of carbon dioxide per person in four European countries from 1967 to 2007 at interval of decade. Overall, Italy, and Portugal show similar trend with increasing(?). Otherwise, United Kingdom, and Sweden succeeded in cutting back the amount.
In 1967, the British people emitted carbon dioxide at nearly 11 metric tonnes, and the figure for the Swedish followed at almost 9 metric tonnes. The amount of their emissions had gone down continuously, and finally arrived at the point of 9 metric tonness. On the other hand, Sweden’s emissions had risen by 1 metric tonnes, but the figure abruptly decreased before next research time. In succession, they kept reducing carbon dioxide until 2007.
Unfortunately, in case of Italy, and Portugal, the value has been increasing. Even though the figures were just around 4, 1.5 metric tonnes, in 1967, respectively, Italy’s level almost doubled and Portugal’s one tripled during the given time period. Finally, Italy surpassed Sweden in 1987, and Portugal recorded tied number with Sweden in 2007. |
