Your Answer ▼In schools or workplaces, there are always hard workers
around us. In this essay, I will present the reasons why some people work
harder than others and the answer of the question “is it always a good thing to
work hard?”
To begin with, I have found a clear reason why people work
hard. As everything is limited such as goods, food and jobs in this society, People
are invisibly encouraged to be hard workers in order to survive and enjoy
better life because it is important to achieve higher academic performance and improved
task achievement ability to be hired and promote to executive positions in workforce.
My father, for example, since he graduated medical college and became a doctor
in a large hospital, his family moved to a bigger house and afforded nicer
cars, traveling around the world on holidays which he could not do, which is a
great example of being succeed by studying hard to get a favorable job.
Nevertheless, I do not believe that working hard always
produces positive effects. Working harder than others should be only dependent
on their own desire. However, if hard working becomes one of must-required
requirements in schools or workplaces, those who willing to just finish school
years or do what they can do in work would be put under much stress. According
to a recent research, the higher expectation the authorities give to students
or workers, the higher suicide and depression rates are seen in there, which
happens because there are always some increasing the expectations by working more
and harder than others.
In conclusion, it seems that there is an understandable
factor that makes people to work harder and harder. However, this phenomenon is
a double-sided sword that generates not only some benefits but also negative
side effects to some groups. |
