Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples
to support your answer.
Every body(=> Everybody) knows that college and university play an important role in
society. They enable students to get more specific informations(=> information) than
those acquired (=> they accquire) from elementary or middle schools. If people do not
attend college the knowledge they learned when they were young will be futile and they
must be skeptical with(=> of) the fact that they wasted their time for studying which was not
their destination. So it is much better to go(=> go to) college than no going(=> not).
College and university provides(=> provide) societies with human resources that
is(=> have) crucial power of development. I think people attend college or university to
learn more detailed knowledges(=> 'specific knowledge', or just 'knowledge') about
the subject they are interested in. Also some people go (+ to) university to get their career
and sustain(=> "lead": 'sustain' means to keep going by withstanding, tolerating
or enduring) their lives (+ better) : "lead their lives better".
First, people attend college in order to learn about what they really like. This kind of
people usually know what is the true meaning of studying; learning things(x) to
(=> learning to) solve their curiosity, not to earn money. College and university are
different from elementary and middle school in terms of how profound the contents of
subject are. For example, a friend of mine has a sister who went (+ to) college and
chose to take the psychology class because she used to wonder how human's emotions
(=> emotion of human) are(=> 'are' or 'is') created.
She has tried to look for informations (=> information) about this, searching Internet,
looking for books and asking to experts through web sites. However, she couldn't find
any information that will remove her curiosity. Therefore, she attended the school this
year and got a lot of informations(=> information). She feels happy while learning
what she really like(=> likes).
Second, there are people who go (+ to) university to get the certification(=> certificate)
of college graduation which make(s) it possible for them to have job(s) and earn
money. Nowadays, more and more people tend to attend university for this reason.
It is no desirable attitude towards education whose real purpose is just purely learning
and developing one's(=> their) ability. If this state continues, the real purpose of education
will be distorted to(=> by) the only way to live wealthy and be respected by others
(=> respectful). The cause of this phenomenon is many companies' demanding of
(=> companies demand) academic degree. It is understandable that companies
need intelligent employees, but this can led(=> lead) to the social tendency of
regarding university as the key to be recognized by others(=> in recognition). Instead
of only evaluating a person with(=> by) the universities where they have graduated,
company(=> companies) have to employ a person(=> people) who has(=> have) creativity
and responsibility.
In conclusion, people go (+ to) college for development of(=> to develop) their own
knowledge and delight, or(x) for a better job(=> better jobs), treatment, (or) reputation
of more convenient life(=> lives),(.) However, the inclination to think university is the
only (+ source) for good life makes the world the most evil and cruel place rather
than peaceful and compatible place. We have to change wrong notion of university for
the(x) better world.
