All crimes are bad and people who comitted it has to be given the punishment for thier crimes. The punishments make impact to a lot of people, includint the criminal, and even the society. Therefore, we should be very careful and consider many thins when deciding on the punishment. Let's say that there is a maen who have childeren at his home who are really hungry, therefore he stole some foods but harmed no one. In this case, how should we deal with this case?
A few years ago, I read a book about a woman who killed a man who had sexually harrassed her several times when she was young. She might have been just a normal woman if she had not gone through the sexual violence form the guy. She definitely had the motivation different from other criminals. Of course what she did is wrong, but there are many things to take into account about her case.
