The two maps illustrate the layout of a
small village called Islip at present, with the proposed changes for the
future.
It is clear that the main change for the
town involves the expansion of
the transport infrastructure. Then more facilities and buildings are expected
to be constructed for residents as well.
Looking at the maps more closely, on the
North side of the town at present, several small shops line up to the both
sides of the main road, however, in
the future, the one side of them will
be replaced with other facilities such as a bus station, a shopping center, and
a car park. Moreover, the main road would be transformed into the spaces only
for pedestrians.
As for the housing development, two residential
areas are located on South parts of the town now, but two more addition of new
housing units are planned for the future, with the size of the
park reduced. Meanwhile, the school is predicted to remain constantly on the
Southwestern part of the map. |
