It is true
that nowadays there are lots of changes in customer behaviour to purchase
products because of developed technology. Although there are many benefits of
buying products via online shopping mall, there are more drawbacks to affect
employees and market price negatively.
First of
all, with the invention of the Internet, people's desire for wanting quick and
handy shopping service is increased dramatically. People all over the world can
compare lots of information on products such as price and design, which makes
them purchase more reasonable items when they are shopping on the Internet. For
example, in Korea, for about few years, the Internet shopping market has
increased and advanced exponentially, and also the preference of that has
jumped significantly. Thus, now many companies have made every efforts to
provide better service like app shopping stores.
However,
despite lots of benefits to online shopping, I personally believe that this
circumstance negatively affects people who are working in service fields.
Because of the fast and handy service of the Internet shopping, most of the
workers in the service centre get lots of stress from their companies and
consumers. For instance, since individuals cannot purchase while looking at
products directly, the role of customer service centre is essential. However,
there are little policies to protect service employees who get stressed out
from their impolite customers. Therefore, most of them receive psychotherapy or
eventually leave their work. Moreover, since consumers can compare price
quickly, more and more people have prefered cheaper and more reasonable
products. As a result, lots of companies compete for one another to provide
cheaper ones, which encourages price competition rise dramatically. Also, lots
of emerging companies have difficulties from setting up new business.
In
conclusion, while there are a lot of benefits of the online shopping industry,
it is deniable that there are more disadvantages of the worker's emotional
baggage from rudeness customers and intensified price competition between
companies.
