People have different opinions on exposing violent criminal's personal information to the public. Regarding this. some assert the opposite. that criminal's personal information should not be open to the public. However, there is a more persuasive argument that personal information or criminals should not be protected. Both views will be discussed below as well as my personal opinion regarding this issue. On the one hand, protecting personal information of violent criminals is necessary to protect people related with the criminal. This is because people tend to look down on criminal's family members. People often blame and despise criminal's family only because they are the family of the criminal. In fact, a few years ago, after father's dreadful criminal record released, a student committed suicide because of harsh despise from many people. In this regard, criminal's personal information should not be exposed to the public in order not to make people who suffer from their family's fault. Nevertheless, personal information of criminals should not be protected to protect many other people. By exposing criminal's personal information, people can recognize the criminal and protect themselves from the criminal. Furthermore, people can keep an eye on the criminal and can call 911 when the criminal does something suspicious behavior. For example, in America, violent criminal's personal information has been opened to the public. Thereby, the criminal's crime repetition rate has decreased from 60percent to 20percent. As the example illustrates, criminal's personal information should be exposed to the public to prevent the repetition of crime committed by the same criminal. To sum up, while it is apparent that criminal's personal information should not be exposed to the public in order to prevent criminal's family, it is undeniable that this information should not be protected to prevent the repetition of crime. |
