▶ Your Answer :
In recent years, owing to the development of the internet, books, and
movies, people can learn about other cultures without going on a trip to other
countries. Some people insist that they can only learn a foreign culture with
traveling to a foreign country, but I firmly believe that we could learn a
foreign culture with secondary resources.
Many experts argue that traveling to other countries offers people to
experience that true lifestyle of foreign countries. According to them,
visiting a foreign country is the only source to know about foreign cultures.
It is true that many countries want to make their images more interesting than
the real life so that they could attract many foreigners to visit their
countries. It is undeniable that hosting them has a lot of positive impacts on
their economies. To response this issue, many countries misrepresent their
images and try to give good impressions with secondary resources, such as
books, movies and the internet. Therefore, professionals argue that traveling
is the only way to experience real foreign cultures.
On the other hand, It is a well-known fact that secondary resources, such
as books, movies and the internet, have enough information that we could learn
well about other cultures. Moreover, visiting a foreign country offers us
restricted opportunities to experience other cultures. For instance, I have
visited Hawaii five times throughout my life. However, I could not go every
places that I wanted to go. Therefore, if I really want to experience all
cultures of them in person, it might be impossible in my entire life. Instead
of that, I could learn a lot of their cultures with secondary resources within
a few days. Hence, these shows that we can learn about other cultures with
secondary resources.
In
conclusion, these two ideas about learning a foreign culture are both
interesting. Although there are some misrepresented things on secondary
resources, I firmly believe that we can learn foreign cultures through
secondary data because it includes all information of other culture and it is
very convenient as well. |
