Your Answer ▼ The graph expains average carbon dioxide emissions per person in United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal from 1967 to 2007. The country shows the highest amount of CO2 emission is United Kingdom in 1976 and maintains the top in 2007. Portugal's CO2 emissions were the lowest among 4 countries; however, Sweden reduced the amount of CO2 emission dramatically from 1977 to 2007 and shows the lowest amount, about 5 metric tonnes, which are the same as Portugal. According to the graph, 4 of countries are divided into two groups. First group, United Kingdom and Sweden tend to decrease the CO2 emissions from 1967 to 2007. United Kingdom cun down the emissions from about 11 to 9 and Sweden reduced from about 9 to 5 metric tonnes. On the other hand, another group, Italy and Portugal, look opposite from the first group. Both countries' average CO2 emissions per person were smaller than the others, however, the figures in the graph consistently increase and particularly, Italy became the second country producing CO2 among 4 countries and Portugal's CO2 emission is as large as Sweden. Consequently, those who were emitting a large amount of CO2 in the past decreased the emission of CO2 and became improved environmentally. Hence, other countries, Italy and Portugal need to change the tendency to produce CO2 through not only governmental but also individual effort. |
