While there are various reasons for this problem, it can be solved by promoting a healthy food and exercise. The main cause of growing obesity children is that both parents often work full time nowadays. In the past, women traditionally stayed at home to cook and look after children, however, parents nowadays do not have enough time to provide children with home-made healthy food so many young people have grown up on a diet of convenience foods. These foods often contain too much fat, salt, and sugar which can lead to increasing overweight children. In addition, since the development of technology, children play video games and chat with their friends through a computer at home rather than doing outdoor sports. These are the reasons why children become obese. To solve this problem, governments should implement regulations and make an extra exercise programs. In particular, unhealthy junk food should be banned from school menus. Meanwhile, food companies should be forced that food packaging must show the food’s nutritional content to inform about what additives contain in it. Another way to tackled this issues is make an extra PE curriculum focus on an overweight students. In fact, almost primary schools already have a mandatory PE classes in developed countries, but special exercise classes for obesity is more useful to encourage them to take part in an outdoor activities. To sum up, it is clear that obesity among children is a serious problem in industrialized countries. Nevertheless, the issue can be resolved by setting a new regulations and an effective work out programs in school. |
