Over countless times, humans have evolved
with more and more new technologies. At this point, it is often discussed
whether the human history has evolved from an ancient cultures or past achievements
have been ignored and developed only in the present. This essay will compare
both opinions and present my opinion.
It is understandable that in the modern
times there have been plenty of progress in all aspects of our life. First, the
illiteracy rate has decreased. In other words, more people can access books and
hi-tech information. For instance, the illiteracy rate in Korea is less than
3%. Second, the science has made great advances. Thanks to technological
developments in human organism and medical care, the average life span is now
over 80. In addition, as the medical robots have developed, it is invented to
perform surgical operations and treatments in the medical field that were
impossible in the past.
Those who advocate “it should not underestimate
ancient culture” also have their reasons. People of ancient culture have made
numerous innovations and discoveries. Using stone tools and using fire, these
were an absolutely achievements at that time. For instance, the technology to
build the pyramids in Egypt is an innovative construction method in the present
age. Moreover, we ought not to forget that the inventions we are using today
are actually a gradual evolution of the past.
To conclusion, both viewpoints have their
merits. However, Early development is a stepping stone to the current
generation. I believe that the establishment of this society is based on past invention
and discovery, even if the people of today's generation are at the hi-tech of
civilization. |
