Your Answer ▼ Parents are faced with the challenge of giving their children to lead satisfying lives. Some people think that parents intervention in childrens' lifestyle is necessary, but I would argue the opinion that parents should allow children to be more free to manage their own chores.
There is an opinion that children should abide by their parent's principle at home or anywhere. This is because a child was born from their parents and they are responsible for them. Therefore, these youngsters should not be surprised or looked displeased when their parents make rules that have an effect on their lifestyles. For example, by forcing a child to spend more time on study, parent are more likely to focus on their duties for work and home rather than being wary of the child. Parents may also restrict or regulate certain products because it is considered unhealthy for their youngsters. This is a controversial issue, but many parents do support laws that curb the used of certain drugs.
However, a line need to be drawn somewhere, as the increasing number of children are growing restless over the thought of parents control in their lives. Widely spread technologies involving surveillance camera have fuelled the idea that we need to carefully think about the parents' role. Those children who are being observed their parents our of camera could lose the sense of basic freedom if legal habits like internet surfing come under parents control. Although parents deciding what to do when and where may lead to overall the improvement of childrens' academic leaning skill, they might complain that they cannot feel free when they are prevented from outdoor activities even in some outdoor areas with their peer group.
In conclusion, there are arguments both for and agains intervention by parents in childrens' lives, but I am convinced that children should be able to make their own choices about how they spend time as long as their school classes are not affected. |
