Hello OOO,
I hope you are doing well !! Happy New Year !!!
We had an admissions committee meeting on Friday and so I wanted to get in touch and let you know that you have been selected for a visit to our campus !! Congratulations !!
We will invite about 7 students for this February 15th through 17th visit. I hope you will be able to join us !!! I will look for a plane ticket for you to leave from the Baltimore/Washington Airport. I will see what is available and confirm a ticket with you before purchasing it.
If you are able to attend, I will look for a plane ticket for you to leave around noon on Feb. 15th to arrive in Ames for a dinner with BCB students. Your day on Friday will consist of several meetings with faculty…so if you provide me with about 7 names of BCB faculty you would like to meet with, that would be great ! I will try to arrange an itinerary for you which includes them. Here is a tentative itinerary for your visit:
Thursday, Feb. 15:
6 p.m. – dinner with BCB students – a casual time to meet current BCB students and talk with them informally…you might want to discuss your next day’s schedule of meetings with them
Friday, Feb. 16:
8:30 to 10 - Meet with program administration; learn more about the BCB program; meet other candidates who are visiting
10 to 11:30 – individual ½ hour meetings with faculty (please provide me with any BCB faculty whom you would like to meet with)
11:30 to 1 – Luncheon with BCB students
1:30 to 3:30 or 4 p.m. – individual ½ hour meetings with faculty (please provide me with any BCB faculty whom you would like to meet with)
5 p.m. – Activities and dinner provided by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences – interact with other BCB prospective student visitors and current students, and meet students from other programs who are visiting ISU
Saturday, Feb. 17:
8 – 11 a.m. – Program administration will have exit interviews with prospective students to answer any remaining questions, provide feedback from the program, and get your feedback on the visit. During this time, BCB Faculty and students interact during a breakfast provided…it’s a casual and helpful time to have new and current students interact to discuss various aspects of life in the BCB graduate program…
I am so happy to provide this great news to you, and look forward to whether you can join us for the visit. Please let me know, and thanks so much ! I’ll look forward to our further communications as we move through the review process and towards making offers of admission. We have had an excellent class of candidates apply this year, and we are very glad that you are one of those applicants!
