우송대학교 솔브릿지 국제대학은 5일 오전 11시 국제회의장에서 미국 내 손꼽히는 명문대학인 조지아공대(Georgia Institute of Technology)와 '2+2 복수학위 프로그램'에 관한 협약을 체결한다고 4일 밝혔다.
이번 협약에 따라 솔브릿지 국제대학 학생들은 2년은 국내에서, 나머지 2년은 조지아공대에서 공부한 뒤 복수학위를 취득하게 된다.
두 대학은 또 연구 및 컨설팅의 공동진행, 학생 및 교수 교류 등에도 협력할 방침이다.
정상직 우송대 부총장은 "복수학위 과정을 통해 솔브릿지 국제대학 학생들이 졸업 후 미국 명문 경영학 석사(MBA) 과정에 진학할 수 있는 길이 열리게 됐다"고 말했다.
한편 아시아를 이끌어갈 인재양성을 목적으로 지난해 문을 연 우송대 솔브릿지 국제대학에서는 24개국 240여명의 학생이 공부하고 있으며 교수진 전원이 외국인이고 모든 강의가 영어로 진행된다. (연합뉴스)
SolBridge signs MOU with Georgia Tech
On 5 March, 2009 a historic MOU for mutual collaboration was signed between SolBridge International School of Business, Woosong University and the Georgia Tech College of Management, Georgia Institute of Technology of Atlanta Georgia.
Participating in the signing agreement were Dr. Sung-Kyung Kim, Chairman of the Woosong Education Foundation, Dr. John E. Endicott, President of Woosong and Vice Chancellor for SolBridge and Dr. Steven W. McLaughlin, Vice Provost for International Initiatives Georgia Institute of Technology (shown in signing photo).
The purpose of the Collaborative Program is intended to promote broad areas of collaboration. The collaboration for initial consideration includes provisions for the creation of a 2+2 student transfer program for SolBridge students, exchange opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students, which would involve short-term academic programs, internships, familiarization visits to key businesses for the enhancement of knowledge and global perspective, and other collaborations which will lead to mutual benefits. Congratulatory members to the signing from SolBridge and Woosong University are shown in the accompanying photo.
Woosong’s president, Dr. John E. Endicott, was formerly Professor and Director of the Center for International Strategy, Technology and Policy for 18 years at Georgia Tech prior to assuming his role at Woosong University.
