While the agony of overcoming the obstacles has positive impact on our lives, I believe that struggling is not “required” for the precious accomplishments. Struggle helps us to find and discover the simpler and shorter ways to reach success. But, the struggle is defined more by the pain than by the achievements it brings. We can understand the definition of the struggle through the global warfare and the modern heroes.
Many novels and films glorify the nobility of battle and the lessons of warfare. But the price paid by the civilians and soldiers far outweighs the lessons from battles. In an international dispute, it is better to resolve the situation without military conflict than the triumph of warfare. By avoiding hostile military actions, the nation can also evade the tragedy of losing lives and economic costs involved in paying off debts and reconstructing the infrastructures.
