Some people like to eat at restaurants, while others like to eat at home. Often it depends on what kind of lifestyle people have. Those who have busy jobs would prefer to eat out more than home. They might not have time to cook at home. They like the convenience of eating out however, I prefer to eat at home, because it saves money, makes me healthier, and lets me eat with my family.
Even though eating at restaurants is fast, you spend more money than more you go. When I have dinner at restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars. Instead of spending that amount of money at restaurant, I could buy a lot of groceries at the market. I think that would be a better and wiser choice.
Eating at home is better for you. Meals at restaurants often contain high fat and calories, and they are served on big plates – you get more food than you need to get. If you cook food at home, you will have better control over the ingredients. You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, and not put so much cheese on pizza. At home, you can control your portion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food because you paid for it.
It's true that eating out is convenient. You don't have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But home cooking doesn't take a lot of time away. There are lots of simple meals that don't take long to cook. In fact, they're faster than eating out, especially if you think of the time you spent when heading to the restaurant, parking, waiting for a table, waiting for service, and heading back home.
Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying. Both can taste good and be enjoyed with family or friends. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits with their lifestyle.
