▶ Your Answer:
Undoubtedly,
education plays a significant role in people’s daily lives in many of the
places where they work and play. Some people think that it is necessary for
high school students to participate in the university class during vacation,
while others think that visiting historical and monumental places is more beneficial. Both opinions may have their
own reasons to support their idea. If I had to choose one, I would say that
experiencing various places is better for teenagers because of the reasons as follows.
To
begin with, when teenage students visit other places, it enables them to relax
and recharge their batteries. After having a long semester, visiting new places such as
museums gives them a chance to experience something different from what they
would do in their usual routine. A new experience can
(is likely to) prevent people from feeling bored in life. For example, when my
sister was in high school, she often felt depressed thinking that her life
became an exhausting routine. To survive in a competitive world, she spent the
whole day studying all academic subjects,
hoping that she could outdo others. Although she made a constant effort, it was
not easy because everyone was working as hard as she was. Fortunately, she was
able to deal with such stress and pressure (in a safe way) by visiting a science museum during her summer vacation. By
doing this, she could let off some steam and gained the energy to study.
Also,
when students spend enough time with their friends (while) visiting other
places, they can get along with (mingle well
with) others. Being with others exposes them to a
different life style, customs, and opinions.
Such exposure is likely to help them to acknowledge that different values
exist, to understand (this) diversity, and to ultimately be comfortable with
it. For example, many research teams,
including Tokyo Research Center, analyzed data from two groups of young adults.
One group consisted of those who spent their vacation studying and maintaining
their hectic schedules, and the other group was made up of those who spent
their vacation visiting historical museums. The researcher found that the
former group was likely to have a lower
level of open-mindedness than the latter group. This implies that traveling (other places)
with others is the key to having good relationships. Without such experiences, (hanging around,) one would fail
to live in harmony.
All
things considered, I strongly believe that
the advantages of visiting museums during the vacation far outweigh those of
studying university subjects. All in all, a
relationship cannot be overestimated in the pursuit of one’s happiness.
