▶ Your Answer :
These days, some people take it for granted
that it is beneficial for people to travel in their own country. However,
contrary to this idea, I strongly believe that people benefit more from
traveling to foreign countries. The rationale behind this is that traveling to
foreign countries helps to broaden our outlook on life and to enhance linguistic
levels.
First of all, traveling foreign countries
plays an important role in broadening one’s perspective. An important reason is
that traveling other countries can expose us to different cultures, thoughts,
and lifestyles that we have never known before because we can interact and
socialize with people who have different majors, interests, and talents.
Consequently, we can take a quantum leap in intellectual growth and accept
diversity which is important in an era of globalization. From my experience, I
majored in music and, I have been in Boston in order to attend a huge choral
music seminar when I was in college. During vacation, I met a variety of people
who are international students, foreign students. Through them, I learned about
a wide variety of unique regional cultures such as music, food, and dialects.
This is because I talk and share my opinion with people who are from different
regions with Korea. It helps for me to understand about having different cultures
contrary to our country and to benefit widen my perspective. Were it not for
the traveling in US, I would have a narrow mind and a lack of understanding of
society.
On top of that, traveling foreign countries
helps for people to develop our language skills. Nowadays, most parents tend to
force more studies besides a school curriculum since they think it is a best
way to success in future to enter an elite school. This is why, most students
attend various private educational institutions like Math, Science, English, and
even Chinese and they have no time to break a bit for it. Thus, they often sick
and tired of it and it stress them out. Moreover, it is not helpful for
students to enhance their learning abilities. However, people experience their language
and cultures in foreign countries, I think they can learn more high levels of
language skills a lot. For example, when I was in middle school, I went abroad
for language training in Japan for half a year. Even though it was hard to
adapt their life, cultures and language, I naturally learned and experienced
Japanese. Thanks to language study abroad, it was beneficial for me to talk and
socialize with foreign people without attending private educational
institutions.
In conclusion, without any doubt, I firmly
believe that it is beneficial to travel to foreign countries. The reason is
that they enable us to wider perspective of the world and develop linguistic abilities.
