▶ Your Answer : Many students are working at part-time job
while attending university. People often say that working as a part timer is
advantageous as it can make students earn money to pay for their tuition.
However, some of the students even work at night and this results in the lack
of time for studying. Moreover, they are exhausted after work, so they cannot
even concentrate during the lecture. Therefore, I contend that students should
not work at part-time job while attending university.
To begin with, many of the students attend
university during the daytime. So, the only time allowed for them to work at
part-time job is during the night time. What this means is that students do not
have the time for their studying. There are various reasons for attending
university, but I believe that one of the common goals is to learn something.
If the goal of attending university is to learn something and if working at
part-time job interrupts achieving such goal, I believe that students should
not work at part-time job. Working at part-time job physically reduces the time
allowed for studying and students cannot even review what they learned. Some
might refute this by saying that they need money to attend university. It is
true; however, they can study more to be qualified for scholarship instead of
working at part-time job to earn money.
Furthermore, working at part-time job is a
rigorous activity. How much rigorous it is depends on the type of the part=time
job as the job may require either lots of thinking or physical labor. Anyhow,
such strenuous part-time job makes students exhausted after work and they
become fatigue. They may not have enough time for sleep to fully recover from
exhaustion. What it means is that students cannot fully concentrate during the
lecture because they are too tired to do so. I have seen lots of students doing
part-time job falling asleep during the lecture. The result is rather obvious.
They get a bad grade from the exam and they have to retake the course again. It
is a vicious cycle. As they have to retake the course, they might have to
attend university for a longer period than the other students which leads to a
greater amount of tuition.
In conclusion, students usually attend
university in order to learn something for their future career or knowledge. If
they work at part-time job, this can lead to the lack of time for studying
which makes it harder for students to study for their courses. In addition, as
students often find working as a part timer either mentally or physically
demanding, it makes them fatigue. Overall, it is therefore highly recommended
that students do not work at part-time job while attending university. |
