▶ Your Answer :
Some
people think that the Internet does not help students learn effectively. However,
in my opinion, using the Internet has obvious advantages for students to study
and learn. There are two reasons: First, students can find the answer of some
problems which are hard to understand. Second, they can learn from
well-organized Internet lectures. First
of all, when students have some questions, accessing to the Internet is the
best way to find the answers. To be specific, we cannot deny the fact that the
Internet includes extremely large amount of information and knowledge. Also,
most of students have smart-phone so that they can always search information
what they need in the Internet. For example, there is a survey conducted by the
Ministry of Information and Telecommunication with 500 high school students as
respondents. The purpose of the survey was to understand the consensus view
about the way to spot answers in today's schools. The participants ranked 'from
the Internet' over 'from the teachers'. Overwhelming 80% of the respondents
responded that they find most of the answers from the Internet while they are
studying. This is mainly because accessing Internet is more convenient than
asking to their teachers or friends. This demonstrates that using the Internet
enable students to find answers and understand difficult problems fast. Second,
students can listen to a wide variety of lectures from the Internet including
the subjects which are not offered by the school curriculum. To explain, if
students want to take a special class or learn about deep and diverse subjects,
school teachers cannot satisfy them. In that time, students can learn a lot
from the Internet classes. Also, it does not cost a lot of money and it is
time-efficient. I will take my experience as an example. When I was a high
school student, I used to study semiconductor. However, teachers did not have
enough knowledge to teach me and there was no class teaching the subject. Inevitably,
I searched the online lectures about semiconductor and immediately find and
watch them which are offered by the Seoul National University. Consequently, I
learned many things from the lectures and was able to write some paper about
the subject. In this sense, the Internet gives students opportunities to gain a
wide variety of knowledge. In
conclusion, students can understand difficult problems by finding the answers
from the Internet. Moreover, they can watch diverse online lectures and learn
deep and wide knowledge. In this regard, with the help of the Internet,
students can learn more effectively.
